About Us
Ending Suicides in Nevada by talking about Mental Health
Hope For Teens was created by Caroline and Lauren Edgeworth to shine a light and to de-stigmatize discussions around mental health for middle school and high school students across Nevada. As Co-Chairs for the Teen Committee for Hope Means Nevada, their goal is to end suicides in Nevada.
Our Story
Hope for Teens is a platform that supports the efforts of Hope Means Nevada. It was created by the teen committee to have a place where they can update information, relay information quickly, and encourage participation. We hope to share ideas, resources, and become a place where people can find valuable information that could help save lives. This is a safe place for everyone to visit and all information is confidential.
The teen committee was founded at the beginning of the Pandemic in April 2020. Born out of a necessity to de-stigmatize conversations about mental health and end suicides in Nevada, our goal is to eliminate suicides all together. Since then, the teen committee has been responsible for helping to pass Senate Bill 249 which will allow for 3 mental health days for all students in Nevada. A suicide hotline will be posted on all student ID cards. We believe this important legislation will help save lives!
